Our classes had wonderful parties last week! All the kids were so excited to wear their costumes to school and have fun with their friends. As you can see from the photos, everyone looked so cute! We had a variety of characters ranging from a firefighter to Doc McStuffins.
Everyone, including teachers and parents, enjoyed the festivities. The class made a special Halloween snack and craft, but I think their favorite part was the "candy dig" game. The students were very enthusiastic about it to say the least. The kids were all smiles and had a great time!

October Fun!
Our Jumpstart class has been very busy as usual. We have been making lots of crafts and playing with friends. We have had quite a few indoor recesses in the gym since it is cooling off outside and has been rainy. The kids have lots of fun either way!
We continue to work on colors, counting, and singing our ABC's. We have been focusing on the color black and orange this month and have made some pretty cute Halloween crafts. We also started learning that on the 2nd day of creation God made the sky and water! The class has enjoyed learning our Bible lessons and working on crafts that go along with the lessons. It is so rewarding to watch the students soak up all the new things they're learning! Thanks for sharing them with us :)

The Color Blue & God Made Light
The past two weeks we have been learning the color blue. We made blue octopuses and blue birds. We learned that the sky is blue and checked out who was wear blue on their clothes each day. We also learned that on Day 1 God made light. We created a black earth with yellow tissue paper as the light that God created.
We have been working hard during our centers time. We strung pool noodles onto a jump rope and sorted color discs on our color mats.
Some of our favorite songs are "Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee," "Animal Action," and "In Right, Out Right." We enjoyed books about Blue and his clues this week and a book about what God created. We are having so much fun at school, and Miss Liz, Mrs. Jill, and I are loving getting to know all of their personalities!

Learning the Color Red & Playing with our New Friends
We have had a great start to the new school year! Everyone is getting to know their new routines and are having fun playing with their new friends. We are learning the color red, a lot of new songs, God made everything; even me, and how to walk down the hallway with "bubbles" in our mouths.
During our center times, we have made red ladybugs, little red hens, red apple prints, and our hand print with a red heart in the center. We have played with oatmeal in our sensory table, red playdoh, and bubbles.
Mrs. Jill, Miss Liz, and I are so proud of all our kids so far. Everyone is doing a great job leaving their moms and dads. We have seen great progress in the last couple of week. We know we are going to have a great year, and are so thankful you share them with us twice a week!!

Everyone loves to play outside and we are taking full advantage of the great weather we have had. Some of our favorite things to play outside is driving our school bus, going down the slide, and playing in the house. We have even discovered some bugs on the playground!!

Lots of Info ♥
Can you believe April is half way over??? Where has this school year gone? Only five and a half weeks left in our school year! We have LOTS of fun planned for the rest of our time together. This post details some of the important information about our upcoming events.
FIELD TRIP
We are going on a field trip to the zoo! On Wednesday, April 24th we will be going to the Mesker Park Zoo. Your child is invited to join the rest of the school on this field trip. However, Jumpstart students are not old enough to ride the bus with the Preschool & Pre-K students or attend without a parent. If you are planning to attend please pay at the zoo gate and wait inside the zoo for the Preschool and Pre-K classes to arrive. The HFYH buses are scheduled to arrive at the zoo at 9:00 am. You MUST stay with your child during the entire field trip.
Graduation Night
Graduation/Recognition night is May 16th at 6:30 pm. We are excited to be able to have the ceremony in our newly built church across the street this year!! Every child is recognized on graduation night. We will also be singing a few songs with the other Jumpstart classes and the Toddler Time students. Each student is asked to wear a HFYH t-shirt during the ceremony. T-shirt order forms were sent home in your child's binder last week. Please let me know if you already have a HFYH t-shirt for your child to wear. Order forms are due Thursday, April 25th. We do not have extra shirts for the kids so please send in your completed order form ASAP!!! =)
End of School Celebration
Details coming soon!!!!!! Get excited because we are planning something wonderful ;)

Important Reminders
- We LOVE to play outside on the playground, with bubbles or with chalk! Please keep this in mind when you dress your awesome kid each day for school :) They will probably get dirty, especially their shoes. Also, it's a good idea to send them to school in a light jacket/hoodie or you may want to keep one in their backpack for these windy and sometimes chilly spring days!
- April tuition is due!! Remember tuition is always due at the beginning of each month and is considered late after the 15th.
- Please clean out your child's binder EVERY DAY! We send home their artwork and/or important paperwork almost every day. Their binders are the easiest way for us to communicate with you daily and your child works very hard on their crafts. Ask them how they made it, what shapes or colors they used, etc.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for all you do.

All You Need Is Love!!
Can you believe that Valentine's Day is already over?? I hope you heard all about our celebrations from your little Valentine. We had lots of fun decorating our Valentine bags and passing Valentines out to our friends. Such a great way to practice giving and our manners as we received all of our goodies. We also made Valentine crafts and enjoyed extra special snacks.

Here are a few pics of some of our festive sweeties:

Lots of love in the air!!
We have also learned about the 5th Day of Creation: On Day 5, God made the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea.
What better time to introduce our first shape, the HEART! We introduced the Heart shape this week at circle time and created ladybugs out of hearts and the heart people hanging around in our room!
A few reminders:
~Open house is almost here! That means you have a VERY short amount of time to hold your child's spot in Preschool next year. Please send in your pre-registration paperwork and fee ($50) asap! Spots are filling up quickly!! Please see let me know if you have any questions =)
~February tuition is due!!!
~Please remember to keep a couple of diapers and a change of clothes packed in those backpacks. Also, try to clean out the Heart Binders every day! Your child is very proud of their art work and would love to tell you about it.

Welcome Back!!
We hope your Christmas break was relaxing and very merry!! I heard lots of kids telling their friends and teachers how much they missed each other ♥ so sweet!
We are almost done with our colors. We have covered Blue, Red, Yellow, Green, Brown, Black and White. Just a couple more to go before we can move on to shapes just in time for Valentine's Day hearts!
We have also learned about the first four days of creation. Ask your child about these days:
On Day 1 God made Light.
On Day 2 God made the sky and the sea.
On Day 3 God made Plants.
On Day 4 God made the Sun and the Moon and the stars.
Did you know that we pray before we eat snack every day? Why not start saying it at home before each meal and take turns saying something you are thankful for?
Here is our prayer:
God is great.
God is good.
Let us thank him for our food.
Amen.
Our classroom got a revamp too. You'll notice we've moved around our centers, circle time, tables and toys. This change is refreshing for all of us and I hope it stimulates their big brains to be aware of change, adjust their routines and showcase their artwork even more!
You will find pre-registration forms for the 2013-2014 school year in your child's binder soon. We allow our current HFYH students to pre-register BEFORE the public. You have until February 27th to submit your pre-registration paperwork and fee ($50) in order to hold your child's spot next year. Our classrooms fill up quickly so please don't delay pre-registrating. On February 27th and 28th from 9am until noon we will have open house. You may attend either of these dates to see a Preschool classroom in action!!
