Important December Reminders!!

Just a few important reminders:


  • Our Polar Express party days are Tuesday, December 18th for Tuesday/Thursday Jumpstart and Wednesday, December 19th for Monday/Wednesday Jumpstart. Students may wear their pajamas to school. (Regular school shoes please)
  • Thursday, December 20th is our Christmas program at 10:30am. School doors open at 10:00am. If your child is in our Monday/Wednesday class please drop your child off at our classroom at 10:00am.  Please dress your child in something Christmasy!! Please let us know if your child will not be attending. Our class will be joining the other Jumpstart class as well as Toddler Time to sing two songs on stage to start the Christmas Program. You will be instructed to collect your child by our classroom as soon as we are done with our two songs. =)
  • Christmas Break starts on December 21st. 
  • School resumes on January 7th for our Monday/Wednesday Jumpstart class.
  • School resumes on January 8th for our Tuesday/Thursday Jumpstart class.
  • December Tuition is due!!!! Please pay before Christmas Break.

Happy Holidays!

Can you believe our first semester of school is almost over?? We have been busy bees learning the colors RED, BLUE, YELLOW, GREEN & BROWN, as well as learning all about the first three days of creation. Every day we are learning how to play and share nicely with our friends and practicing our fine motor skills, matching, sorting and problem solving at centers. I hope you've caught your little ones singing around the house because we have been practicing our songs at circle time and during music time.

              Our last two weeks of school this semester will be very busy and very FUN!!

~This week the Scholastic Book Fair is available in the welcome center. Your purchases benefit our school! Plus each HFYH teacher has a book picked out that we would love to have in our class. These books are in a teacher wish list basket at the book fair. Come join us and give the gift of reading! The book fair is open:
Wednesday December 5th- 8:30am-9:00am, 11:30am-12:00pm, 2:30pm-3:00pm, 6:00pm-8:00pm
Thursday December 6th- 8:30am-9:00am, 11:30am-12:00pm, 2:30pm-3:00pm

~December 10th -13th = Our Reindeer Party Week! To continue our learning all about the color BROWN we will be doing reindeer crafts, watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, eating special "reindeer trail mix" and playing reindeer games!

~December 18th & 19th = We will have our annual Polar Express Party day! Students may wear pajamas to school. (please dress your child in normal school shoes) We will be making Christmas crafts, watching the Polar Express, practicing for the Christmas Program and working on some secret Christmas projects ;)

~December 20th = HFYH CHRISTMAS PROGRAM at 10:30 am. This program includes all Home For Your Heart students even those who do not regularly attend school on Thursdays. We would love to have all of our students participating. Please let us know if your child can not attend. Our students have been working hard on learning their songs and motions so please make every effort to attend! =)

Our first month of school!

We have been having lots of FUN during our first month of school! We have been busy singing, playing together nicely, getting to know each other, making crafts and adjusting to our daily routine.



Every day we sing songs during our circle time and new songs are added during Music Time on Wednesdays/Thursdays. 

           Here is a list of the songs in case you want to practice at home:

                       We have finished up our first color: RED!!!

We read "The Little Red Hen" book and made our own Red hens complete with feathers! We also made apple palm prints and apples with real apple seeds that are currently hanging on our new tree in our classroom! Keep an eye on our tree as it changes during the seasons, holidays and as we learn new colors this school year =)


Our next color is Blue! We will also start learning about the Days of Creation and making fall crafts. Please remember to send a hoodie or light jacket each day, we like to spend our recess time outside until the weather becomes too cold. Be sure to check our blog often for important dates and events and pictures of the fun things we are doing!!

Welcome to our Blog!

Welcome to Mrs. Lynn & Mrs. Nichole's Jumpstart blog! Here you will find pictures, important reminders, event information and highlights from our classroom. Stop by often to check out all of the fun we are having!

Our Back to School Open House night is coming up on August 17th at 6:30pm. This is a fun evening to bring your child to meet their new teachers and new friends. We are excited to share more about our program with you! Please bring all of your enrollment paperwork and your pro-rated August tuition to open house. HFYH logo wear will also be available for you to order.

It's time to say good-bye.

It's really here. Our last week of the school year is going to be a busy one! Here's a look at each day of our final week:

Monday~ The Monday/Wednesday class will meet during normal school hours. We will be finishing up projects and practicing for graduation! Please bring in your Bouncing off the Walls slips!

Tuesday~ Both Jumpstart classes are invited to our End of School party at Bouncing off the Walls!! The Jumpstart bounce time will be from 8:30-9:30. We will be meeting at Bouncing off the Walls. Your child's admission during their class's bounce time is covered by Home for Your Heart school. If you are bringing any extra children that will be bouncing or if your child is staying to bounce with an older sibling then you will be responsible for paying for their admission. Parking is extremely limited there so please be on time. Please be aware that there is no school on Tuesday. Also, your child MUST wear socks to bounce!! =)

Wednesday~ The Monday/Wednesday class will meet during normal school hours. We will be having an Ice Cream Sundae party to celebrate all of our students with summer birthdays!! We will provide the ice cream and sprinkles. If your child has a summer birthday you may bring fun ice cream toppings, chocolate syrup, cookies or treats to go with our ice cream!!

Thursday~ The Tuesday/Thursday class will meet during normal school hours. We will be finishing up projects and practicing for graduation! We will be having an Ice Cream Sundae party to celebrate all of our students with summer birthdays!! We will provide the ice cream and sprinkles. If your child has a summer birthday you may bring fun ice cream toppings, chocolate syrup, cookies or treats to go with our ice cream!!

~Graduation Night~


Our Graduation/Recognition Night is Thursday, May 17 at 6:30pm!! The students have been working VERY hard at their songs for graduation. Here are Graduation Night details:

-Please drop your child off in the Music Room #201 at 6:00pm. Please be on time!! =)
-Students are asked to wear a HFYH t-shirt in any color. If you ordered a shirt from the recent t-shirt order it will be sent home in time for graduation. =)
-They will be singing 3 songs on stage, receiving their "diplomas" and end of school gifts.
-There will be a small reception afterwards. Please take any of your child's art work from our classroom walls home with you!!

Your child has been practicing for Graduation Night for a long time! It's a very fun (and emotional, bring tissues!!) night for both of our classes to come together on stage for their families and friends. Please make every effort for your child to attend.

Shapes, Day 7 & Graduation!!

Can you believe our school year is almost over? What a very fun year we have had!! We have been busy finishing up our shape characters, learning all about the last day of creation and practicing our songs for the graduation program, as well as some surprise projects your child has been working on! Our rainbow rice table turned easter egg hunt table changed once again for spring into a chalkboard table! We have had lots of fun drawing and coloring with chalk before we begin our class each morning.





We have a very busy schedule for our last 2 weeks of school! Check out the May newsletter in your child's binder for exciting events like Pajama Day & Muffins w/ Moms and Donuts w/ Dads Day. A Day in the Life of Jumpstart Students!!

Did You Know That Everyday We:

  • Sing "Everybody Wave Hello" to start our day.
  • Review all of the colors we learned during the first semester.
  • Review the shapes that we have learned so far this semester.
  • Count from 1-10.
  • Sing our ABC's.
  • Review the days of creation that we have learned so far.
  • Make one or two crafts that coordinate with our current focus. (i.e.-circle caterpillars, black & white penguins, bird and fish hand prints for the fifth day of creation, etc.)
  • Play nicely with our friends outside or in the gym.
  • Pray before snack time.
  • Sing fun songs like 5 Little Monkeys, Jesus Loves Me, Baby Bumblebee, HFYH school song, etc.
  • Sing "Open, Shut Them" to get ready for story time.
  • Listen quietly to Mrs. Nichole read a fun book.
  • Learn at educational centers in our classroom that help develop fine motor skills, color recognition and sensory experiences or go to Music Class with Mrs. June!
  • Sing "It's time to say good-bye" to end our day.
  • HAVE LOTS OF FUN!!!!

Rainbow Rice & Circles!!

Have you seen the newest addition to our classroom? Our dirt sensory table got a new makeover, Rainbow Rice!!




The kids had a blast helping us color the rice and it was a great way to wrap up learning our colors!


Time to start learning our shapes!! We have begun learning all about "circles" by playing parachute and making circle rainbows! =)

 The next time you stop by our classroom check out our other circle crafts decorating our walls like our circle snowmen and circle caterpillars!

Color Review!!

This week we reviewed all of the colors we have learned this school year. Check out our fingerprint rainbows!


We have learned the first four days of creation. Here is our craft for the newest day the kids have learned. On day four, God made the SUN and the MOON and the STARS.


Next week we will be continuing our color review, written name recognition, introducing shapes and making some very fun Valentine's Day crafts!!
